Welcome to the technical and content writing section. This section includes a selection of technical and content writing samples completed for a professional technical writing certificate program from the University of Washington, undergraduate work from Indiana University, and freelance work done for a local nonprofit.

Brochure
This brochure was written for a budding initiative conducted by a local Christian church in San Francisco, California. The technical objective of this document was a hybrid of persuasive and informative intent. This presentation is written in an easy-to-understand manner to relate the event and organization in a relatable and accessible way.

Handbook
This is an informational guide written, designed, and formatted by myself during a certificate program at the University of Washington. The document was composed with careful attention to detail, making sure to arrange the content with appropriate structure and professional branding.

Newsletter
This newsletter, written for a mock nonprofit food pantry, incorporates purposeful page design, compact writing, and intentional branding for the organization. Careful attention was given to the format of the writing and document design, ensuring that the copy was efficient.

Digital Content Writing (Mock Food Bank Website)
This website was formed for a mock food bank to present the organization in an accessible, inviting manner. The copy was written in an easy to understand fashion without sacrificing informational completeness. Additionally, the site was designed to be easy to navigate so that the user can easily find what they want to learn and accomplish.

Digital Content Writing (Blog Website)
This website built through wordpress.com is written as a travel guide gleaned off of my own personal travels experiences. Merging the style of a travel guide mixed with a how-to, “for dummies” set of instructions, the copy in this site melds technical instructional writing with fascinating cultural education. The site pinpoints topics, facts, and experiences that are completely foreign to those who have not been to Japan and instructs them about it in an engaging and compelling manner.

Patient Handout
This is an informational/instructional patient handout that was created as a solo project during the first quarter of my Professional Technical Writing certification program from the University of Washington. The intent of this document is to assist the reader in organizing their current understanding of mental health care and to provide a clear of sense of direction in their search.

Online Learning Guide
This online learning informational guide was collaboratively written by myself and two other team members. I was in charge of the generation, flow, and organization of the written copy. The goal of this deliverable is to facilitate the user’s selection process in choosing the right subcategory of online learning for their specific needs.

Instructions
This procedural/instructional document was written for needs of a non-profit food drive conducted by a church in Mountain View, California. This document demonstrates an ability to compress a large quantity of information into sequential, logical steps that effectively translate into a seamless execution of tasks. This document employs the use of visuals, textual formatting, concise writing, and effective organization.

Grant Writing
This grant project was written for the same client (local church in Mountain View, CA) as the instructional document. Careful adherence to the funding agency’s stipulations and policies was upheld as well as the delivery of a cogent, efficient, and effective elaboration on the legitimate need for funding.

Formal Proposal
This proposal demonstrates the ability to adhere to established business practices and professionalism while utilizing clarity of voice, persuasion, and efficiency of wording to convey information. While it is not a conventional example of technical writing in the strictest sense, it shows the essential workplace skill of spotting a problem, analyzing it, and determining a successful and feasible solution for it.
